RESOLUTION OF THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL OF SOUTHLAND, RELATIVE TO REUNION WITH OTAGO. No. 1. Copy of a letter from His Honor J. P. Taylor to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary. Superintendent's Office, -Sir, — Southland, 21st August, 1869. I have the honor to enclose herewith copy of a Resolution passed by the Provincial Council of this Province on the 19th instant, having reference to the Reunion of Provinces. I have, &c, Jno. P. Taylor, The Hon. the Colonial Secretary, "Wellington. Superintendent.
Enclosure in No. 1. Council Chambers, 19th August, 1869. Seventli Session of the Third Provincial Council of the Province of Southland. " Resolved, —That this Council is of opinion that any Bill introduced into the Assembly by the General Government permitting the reunion of Provinces, should have reference to the union of Southland to the Province of Otago; and that the Superintendent be requested to forward this Resolution to the Colonial Secretary by the first opportunity."
