The Committee on Maori Petitions have the honor to report as follows:— "WILLIAM THOMPSON AND HETA TAUEANGA. Tiie Committee, after examining the Petitioners at great length, recommend that the Petitions should be referred to His Honor the Superintendent of Auckland. WILLIAM BAETON. Tiie Petitioner in this case is a most loyal and intelligent Native, and deserves that his claim should be fully investigated by the Government, and liberal arrangement made with him. WI TAKO AND MOHI NGAPONGA. Tiiese Petitions raise very large questions, the treatment of which involves important consequencesThey should be carefully dealt with by the Executive Government, but it does not appear that any action can properly be taken by the Legislature.
