FAIR RENTS ACT WAIVED (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday By the Fair Rents Emergency Regulations, 1945, gazetted last night, it is provided that where the occupier of a dwelling house agrees to let part of a house to a serviceman, the occupier and the serviceman may, by agreement in writing, approved by an inspector of factories before commencement of the tenancy, agree that the Fair Rents Act shall not apply to that tenancy or any sub-letting by the serviceman. This means that on the termination of any tenancy so entered into the occupier of the house may recover possession of that part of the house he has let to the serviceman. Any such agreement approved by an inspector is exempt from stamp duty and is conclusive evidence that the tenant is a serviceman and that the agreement has been made under the regulations;
