INDOOR BASKETBALL COMPETITIONS A number of exciting- games were seen in the Hamilton indoor basketball competitions at the Drill Hall this week especially in the girls A grade, when top teams took second place to weaker teams due to handicapping. A surprise win in the men’s section was the dereat of Yendells by Foresters, the latter playing a fast, hard game with J. Wilson and B. Riley shooting accurately and R. Booth and F. Dixon defending well. A fast Girls’ game was between Social Secs and Y.W.C.A., the former finally winning through the effective play of A. Carter, C. Hunt, P. Morrison and N. Woods. For Y.W.C.A. J. Warren, J. Dewhurst, L. Pike and E. Whiteman played well. Farmers’ Trading are an improving team as shown nv their draw with W.A.A.F.’s. Most outstanding in all phases were N. Ahem, B. Ford, P. and B. Findlay, J. Tingle, M. Cornwall and H. Speedy. Results were: Girls: E. and B 32, Kiwis 20; F.A.C. 22, H.S.O.G. A 16; Social-secs 10, Y.W.C.A. *; Bonds 24, Army 21; Times 12, Dairy <”0. 10; P. nod T. 16, Tikis 11; C.A.C. 1 8, A.A. 4; W.A.A.F.’s 8, Farmers Trading fc; Wilcut 8, H.S.O.G. B C; MacDulTs 19, Arawn 11; Public Service 14, St. Mary’s 12; Enzed 26, Unity 12; Cubs beat Douglas by default; C.A.C. 2 beat Ryburn by default. Men: Mohawks 9, Nomads 7; Kiwis 20, Rovers 16; Cardinals 26, Dodgers 16; Swimming Club 12, Times 11 ; Bombers 18, Army 8; Athletic 16, Bonds 3; Comets 14, Leaders 11; Foresters 16, \ endelis 6; Typnoons beat Flndlays by default.
