SON BEFORE COURT

ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER AUCKLAND, Friday Thomas Joseph Buckly Prier, aged 18, millhand, appeared before Mr J. Morling, S.M., yesterday charged with the attempted murder of Thomas Leslie Prier, farmer, at Katikati, on December 20. He was not represented by counsel. • Detective-Sergeant Trethewey said that at the request of the Hamilton police he was asking for a remand of one week until January 11. “On that date,” said Mr Trethewey, “I intend to ask for another remand, and further remands after that may also be necessary. Accused’s father, whom it is alleged he attempted to murder, is in hospital.” The magistrate granted the remand. The father was admitted to the Waihi Hospital on December 20 with a .22 bullet wound in the groin.
