CONTEST FOR REMUERA
RETIREMENT OF MR ENDEAN AUCKLAND, Tuesday It was announced by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr S. G. Holland, during an address in the Town Hall tonight that the sitting National member for Remuera, Mr W. P. Endean, had agreed to retire in favour of Mr R. M. Mr Endean’s retirement was in a splendid spirit of selfsacrifice and patriotism, concluded Mr Holland amid applause. Mr Endean, who won the Remuera seat .then known as Parnell, in 1930, as the Reform candidate, practised as a barrister and solicitor for nearly 30 years until his retirement in 1929.
