OBITUARY

MR T. MacLENNAN The death has occurred at Auckland of Mr Telford MacLennan, who for 18 years was district electrical engineer at Hamilton. Mr MacLennan, who was aged 57 years, was connected with the development of the Horahora and Arapuni schemes, prior to which he was employed on the construction of the Lake Coleridge hydro-electric works. He was appointed district electrical engineer j for the Waikato in 1920 and retired! to live in Auckland in 1938. Mr MacLennan was born at Tapanui and educated at the Otago Bovs’ High School and Canterbury University College, where he graduated bachelor of engineering. Before the last war he served with the Westinghouse Electrical Company in the United States and Canada for six years, returning to New Zealand in 1913. Mr MacLennan was the originator of the Federal Union movement and wrote extensively on the subject. He served in the last war and won the Military Medal. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers.
