END-OF-YEAR SOCIAL

ST. JOHN DIVISION A very pleasant evening was spent in the Centreway Rooms on Wednesday evening when the St. John Ambulance V.A. and Nursing Division held their end-of-the-year social. An entertaining programme was presented and during the evening a presentation was made to three members of the Hamilton Women’s Auxiliary Corps for their assistance to the division throughout the year. Mrs R. G. Howell, provincial commandant of the St. John V.A.’s, and Miss L. Dixon, superintendent of the nursing division, welcomed the visitors and spoke of the good work done -by the division throughout the year. Mrs H. D. Cobb, Mrs H. C. Ross and Miss Menzies, of the Waikato Hospital congratulated the organisation

on its fine record and expressed the hope that each and every one would work with renewed vigour in the new year. Congratulations were extended to Mrs Howell on her appointment to the position of Provincial Commandant. Those contributing to the programme were Mrs J. R. and Miss M. Wilson, Miss P. Wilkins, Miss J. Harder and Mrs Wilson.
