V.A.D. SOCIAL

A pleasant evening was spent on Thursday when the Red Cross First Voluntary Aid Detachment closed the year’s meeting with a social, when there was an attendance of 70 members and their friends. Presentations were made to Sergeant Hikaro and Flying-Officer Hood who had instructed the girls in drill for a competition held at Cambridge recently. A programme of musical items was enjoyed. Appreciation of the work the officers had done during the year was expressed by Mrs L. Ashworth, and presentations were made to Miss C. Hooker, commandant, Mrs F. A. Lamb, lady superintendent, and Miss O. Moody, assistant commandant.
