SCHOOLBOYS FOR FARMS
TRANSFER FROM WELLINGTON (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Wednesday The Government has authorised the transfer of schoolboys from Wellington to the Auckland district to meet the demand for extra labour on farms during the holidays, said Mr N. G. Gribble, of the Government Youth Centre, today. Two hundred Wellington boys were “just rearing to go,” added Mr Gribble. The boys would have their travelling expenses provided but would be expected to repay from their earnings, and would be asked to stay on the farms for at least four weeks.
