An offer to proceed with this reduction has been made to the Government. If it decides against any alteration in the new regulations the extra tax will be carried by the . manufacturers, thus ensuring that the price will remain at the pre-war level. A telegram received by this concern from the Government today indicated that a decision would be made immediately.
