HOSPITABLE CANADIANS

RETURNED AIRMAN’S PRAISE Gratification is expressed by Sergeant Air-Gunner Eric Brown, at has just returned from Canada, at the hospitality extended to New Zea- : land airmen in that Dominion. He mentioned that the Canadian Y.M.C.A. had been generous in arranging to fill the men’s week-end ! leaves, and because of this the servicemen never had an idle moment. Last Christmas Sergeant Brown paid a visit to New York, which he said would probably not have been possible had the Y.M.C.A. not made every arrangement. He also gave high praise for the reception given the party during its visit to the United States. Sergeant Brown is the son of Mr and Mrs A. S. C. Brown, of Galloway Street, Hamilton East. Aged 24 years, he was educated at the Hamilton Technical High School. Entering the Royal New Zealand Air Force, he left for Canada a year ago and graduated as an air gunner-wire-less operator. He spent some time on active service in Western Canada before being sent back to New Zealand for duty. A fine pictorial record of his travels through Canada has been brought home to his parents.
