600 MEMBERS WITH FORCES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thuisday The annual meeting of the Un.ted Fire Brigades Association of New Zealand opened in Wellington today. The president, Mr H. L. Warner, of Eltham, said that approximately 800 members were with the forces. Those j left behind were faced with a big ! task but he was sure they would be ! equal to all demands. I The Under-Secretary of Internal | Affairs, Mr J. W. Heenan, said : brigadesmen were playing an essen- ; tial part in the defence of the coun- . try. Delegates adjourned to watch tbe part played by the fire-fighting services in the trial alarm.
