COMBINED MEETING

CONVENED BY W.W.S.A. At a combined meeting of representatives of women’s organisations in Hamilton, convened by Mrs J. Ward Chapman, chairman of the district committee of the Hamilton branch of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary, the advisability was discussed of a meeting being held once a month to report on the various activities of the organisations. After some discussion, during which the necessity for more canteen workers and land girls was stressed by Mrs Chapman, and Mrs R. S. Graham, centre commandant of the Red Cross Society spoke on the urgent need for more voluntary aid trainees, it was decided to hold a combined meeting once a month with a view to mutual help and general co-operation.
