Nov. 27 The redoubtable and indefatigable New Zealand forces added to their already brilliant record with the recapture of Sidi Rezegh, round which the mam battle has been joined since the campaign opened In the capture of Sidi Rezegh and the occupation of Bir-el-Hamed the New Zealand forces met with considerable opposition from the German infantry, but, supported by British tank formations, they successiully completed the operation on the night of November 25. While stiff fighting continued in this area throughout yesterday, the New Zealanders pushed on in the direction of Tobruk and elements were successful in making a junction ■w.th the Tobruk forces at El Duda early this morning, the forces from Tobruk having captured this point yesterday. As in the case of the previous occupation of points, pockets of resistance Still necessitate continued local action, and it is stated that the fighting continues to be fierce. Military circles are quietly confident.
