ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE
MEETING AT FRANKTON At a meeting of the Loyal Frankton Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., arrangements were made for a Christmas parcel to be sent to each member of the lodge serving overseas. It was stated that there were about 16 members serving with the armed forces. The meeting was presided over by Mr S. W. Smith, who welcomed visitors from other lodges. The members stood in silence in memory of Gunner O. Muir who recently lost his life overseas. During a social evening following the lodge business the presentation of a wedding gift was made to Airs J. Welch, who was married recently. The prizes for an international costumes competition were as follows; Women: Miss P. Hebditch (Hungarian peasant) 1, Miss B. Chestnut (gipsy) 2. Alen: Air C, Smith /Legion of the Lost). A novelty lance prize was won by Mr and Mrs J. Haggard.
