CHEESE OUTPUT
FACTORY AT KARAPIRO TWO SHIFTS WORKING The recently-converted cheese factory at Karapiro, owned by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, commenced operations for this season yesterday with two full shifts. Previously a factory manufacturing casein, it had been out of operation for the past two seasons. The factory was converted to manufacture cheese under the Emergency Regulations and is equipped for a four-vat shift in the daytime and a three-vat shift at night. This is the second temporary cheese factory opened by the company this season to assist in securing Britain's extra cheese tonnage, the first being the Waharoa factory on August 1.
