Copyright) MELBOURNE, Sept. 20 Mrs Ethel Benbow. aged 57, whose legs became entangled in the mooring ropes of a ferry boat at Cowes, lost both feet and died after an operation. Mrs Benbow accidentally stepped into a coil of rope that was being used to moor the boat to the pier bollards The rope suddenly tightened round her ankles. One foot was severed and the other was so severely crushed that it had to be amputated.
