MEDICAL LEGISLATION

ANOTHER CHURCH PROTEST AUCKLAND, Monday Preaching at the morning and evening services at St. Mary's Cathedral yesterday Dean W. Fancourt made an appeal to his congregation to support the doctors in their stand against State regimentation and to attend the meeting of protest in the Town Hall on Wednesday night. Dean Fancourt said he endorsed every word of the criticism levelled at the Government’s proposals by Archdeacon W. Bullock, of Wellington, in a sermon the previous Sunday. He considered the Government was seeking to force the doctors against their will to comply with certain conditions of service. If the attempt succeeded, other professions and occupations would undoubtedly be brought into line until everyone engaged in useful activity was under the complete control of the State.
