PRISONER OF WAR

SOLDIER FROM WAHAROA (Special to Times) MATAMATA, Friday Word has been received by Mr and Mrs Lasenby, of Rotorua, through the Red Cross at Geneva that Private Burton Lasenby, who has been missing since the campaign in Greece, is a prisoner of war. Private Lasenby went overseas about a year ago and before his enlistment was employed at the Waharoa factory of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited. Mr J. A. Kernot, of Hinuera, has received a cablegram from Private Reyn Evans that he is safe in Egypt. Private Evans, who was well known in Hinuera, was reported missing following operations in Crete.
