AUCKLAND PROHIBITION BLACKOUT RESTRICTION (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Saturday Auckland children are to make a special sacrifice in the cause of freedom this year. All Guy Fawkes celebrations by bonfires and fireworks on November 5 have been forbidden by the Auckland lighting controller, Mr R. H. Bartley, who said today that this decision had been arrived at in consideration of the maintenance of the blackout restrictions. The matter, he said, came under the emergency precautions regulations, and anyone who lit bonfires or set off fireworks after 6 p.m. would be severely dealt with. He appealed to all school teachers and parents to assist in having the embargo faithfully observed.
