CHRISTIAN TEACHINGS

REMARKS AT APPEAL BOARD WELLINGTON, Wednesday In a written reply in the House of Representatives today to a question asked by Mr J. A. Lee (Democratic Labour—Grey Lynn) concerning remarks by Mr T. P. McCready, a member of the No. 1 Armed Forces Appeal Board, the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. W. Nash, said the Government was satisfied, and was supported by the chairman of the board, that Mr McCready was capable of impartially determining the judicial issues on the evidence tendered to the tribunal. Mr Nash said today that he was assured by the chairman of the board that the statement did not correctly report the words of Mr McCready, and that the sole purpose of the statement was to the effect that circumstances in Palestine at the time of the foundation of Christianity should be compared with present- \ day conditions to enable individuals correctly to interpret the principles of Christianity in the light of the circumstances of today.
