NEW MAJOR OFFENSIVE
JAPANESE IN CHINA (UnllM Prcu Assn.—EJ“C. Tel. Ccbvrlfflil) (Received June 7, 3.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 6 The New York Times’ Chungking correspondent says: Developments here indicate that the Japanese will soon launch a new major offensive in Central China.
The Japanese forces at Hupeh have been reinforced and additional reinforcements are continuing to reach Hankow. The Japanese are making an effort to wipe out an important guerilla base in the mountains in Southern Hupeh.
