Copyright) BRISBANE, Feb. 26 When a party of horsemen arrived near Helen’s Creek, in the Daintree district, tney were surprised by a crocodile which made a vicious attack on a packhorse in front of the party. They immediately made a quick return to the bank. The packhorse plunged about in the water and scared the crocodile away lor a few seconds, and then the crocodile made another attack as the horse was about to reach the bank. One of the party fired at the saurian with a rifle and it disappeared quickly. The packhorse had a large gash in the rump and other punctures.
