FACTORY DAMAGED
FIRE AT NEWMARKET GOOD WORK BY BRIGADE (By Telegraph.—special to Times) AUCKLAND, Thursday Despite the fact that the flames had a strong hold when the Fire was discovered, fire brigades considerably restricted the damage when a fire broke out in the factory of the Dominion Lead Mills, adjoining the premises of Hardley’s Ltd., Newmarket, early this morning. Considerable damage was done, but the fire was under control by one o’clock. Stocks of finished products and a quantity of pig lead were included in the losses. Superficial damage was done to the building of Hardleys, Limited, and to a quantity of galvanised sheets in their premises. The plant in the factory, which included valuable electrical machinery, is valued at about £20,000 and the building at about £4OOO. No estimate of the damage has yet been j made. The Lead Mills building and plant were insured with the Atlas Assurance Company, Limited.
