LADY BLAMEY
MUST RETURN TO AUSTRALIA WAR CABINET’S DECISION (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) MELBOUPuNE, Feb. 24 There has been no change in the War Cabinet’s decision of a fortnight ago that Lady Blarney, wife of the officer commanding the Australian Imperial Force, LieutenantGeneral Sir Thomas Blarney, should return to Australia from the Middle East without delay The acting-Prime Minister, Mr Fadden, explained today that Lady Blarney had been given her own choice of how to return —by sea or air. It had been made clear to her that, having chosen, she would have to catch the first boat or the first aeroplane available. Asked whether Lady Blarney’s memory would be jogged if necessary. Mr Fadden replied: “It will be if we do not get something definite.”
When Lady Blarney left Australia for the Middle East she travelled by flying-boat.
