HAMILTON RINK WINS EXCITING FINAL AT WHITIORA The Whitiora Bowling Club’s open fullrink tournament yesterday, in which 10 teams competed, provided an exciting finish, in which victory went to the Hamilton club rink skipped by J. H. Saunderson. Results of concluding rounds were: Fourth round.—Taylor 16, v. Lainbeth 8; Howie 14 v. Wycherley It; Saunderson 11, v. Woodhall 10; Forsyth 19, v. Brown 3; Millington 19, v. Sing 4. Filth round.—Howie 11, v. Woodhall 8; Forsyth 10, v. Lambeth 9; Sing 11, v. Taylor 6; Wycherley 11, v. Millington 9; Saunderson 12, v. Brown 5. Summary.—4 wins, Saunderson and Sing; 3} wins, Howie; 3 wins, Taylor and Millington; 2$ wins, Forsyth; 2 wins, Woodhall; 14 wins, Wycherley and Lambeth; no wins, Brown. The play-off between Saunderson and Sing >vas over five heads and they finished 3 all. The teams were: P. Gavan, Coutts, J. Boyes and Saunderson (Hamilton); C. Carson, W. Smith, N. Irvine and J. Sing (Whitiora). The extra head saw Carson drop the first howl lit short. Gavan drew a toucher. CaTson was 4ft short, and again Gavan touched to lie 2. Smith narrowly missed and went on 2ft past kitty. Coutts was 4ft over. Smith's second howl was 24 It short. Coutts rolled shot bowl over and lay second, Irvine drove, but struck a short bowl and “squilted" off the green. Boyes xvas 4ft short. Irvine’s second was Sl't short, dead centre. Boyes drew second shot, jack high. Sing Just missed, to finish 2ift over. Saunderson drew a third counter, sing's second bowl glanced off the second shot and went through, and thus Saunderson was 3 up to win the match.
