FREE ELECTRICITY MATAMATA HOME GUARD (Special to Times) MATAMATA, Wednesday. The Thames Valley Power Board yesterday decided to allow the Matamata" Home Guard Companies free electric current at Bedford Park for evening parades. Mr. G. G. Griffiths, secretary of the Matamata Emergency Committee, stated in his application for the concession that the maximum number of parades was two weekly each being no longer than two hours. The average parade or the two companies approached the 206 mark.

CLAY BIRD SHOOTING MATAMATA GUN CLUB (Special to Times) MATAMATA, Wednesday. A feature of the Matamata Gun Club’s last siioot xvas the performance of F. Montague, a novice so lar as clay bird shooting is concerned. He succeeded in winning, without the aid of his handicap, a nine-bird sweepstake, and performed well in other events. Results.—Eyeopener (6 targets): I. Kosoof 6, E. Green, R. D. Reynolds, and W. Horne 5 each. Yankee match (10 targets): 11. Davis and B. Smith 9; R. Brinkworth, J. Broomhall, L. o. Mason, E. Green 8. Handicap (9 targets): F. Cole, R. D. Reynolds, w. Blair 9; Reynolds won the shoot-off with Blair 2nd. Yankee match <lO targets); J. Rroomhall and IL Brink worth 9. Rroomhall won the shoot-off. Sweepstake (9 targets): F. Montague won outright.
