TIRAU FAREWELL
RESIDENTS HONOURED The esteem in which Mr and Mrs P. G. Turley, who have been in control of the Tirau Hotel for the past four years, are held, was demonstrated recently when an exceptionally large number of residents of Tirau and i i ■ surrounding districts attended a rarewell evening in their honour. Mr J. W. Anderson paid .warm tribute to the active interest taken by the guests-of-honour irl local activities, and expressed regret at their departure. On behalf of all present he presented them with numerous gifts as tokens of goodwill and esteem. Mrs Turley was the recipient of a bouquet presented to her by Mrs J. McLaren. Mr and Mrs Turley suitably responded and they were accorded musical honours. Mrs Turley was wearing a frock of floral silk. Among those present were:—-Mes-dames H. Selby, C. P. Gardner, J.
