FAREWELL SOCIAL
FOR MISS ISABEL PEGLER A delightful social was held in the Dixieland Cabaret, Raglan, recently in honour of Miss Isabel Pegler, who has left for Auckland to continue her studies. The function was organised by friends of the guest-of-honour, a large crowd attending. Prior to the serving of supper, Mr C. H. Marcroft extended to Miss Pegler the best wishes of all for a successful career, and a happy future. Mr N. Oram, of the statt of the Raglan High School, endorsed Mr Marcroft’s remarks, with eulogistic comments on Miss Pegler’s school career. On behalf ol' her friends Mr Marcroft ther>presented Miss Pegler with a cheque. During the evening three delightful solos were rendered by Master Ken Ayo. Music was provided by Mrs Howe, Misses C. and D. Middlemiss and Mr K. Walker. Miss Pegler wore a frock of cream chiffon, and her mother a frock of Burgundy velvet. During the evening charming posies were presented to the guest and her mother by Misses Shirley Pointon and Shirley Marcroft.
