FARM TRUCKS

LICENSE FEE WAIVED CONDITIONS OF USE PETROL TAX REFUND (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday In order to facilitate farm production an additional concession to farmers in the form of granting them E plates for motor-trucks used for farm work is provided by the transport legislation suspension order gazetted tonight. The notice, which is under the war emergency regulations, suspends the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act so far as they require payment of annual license fees in respect of farmers’ motor-vehicles, provided the vehicles are used exclusively in connection with farming business and are used on roads only in proceeding from part of a farm to another part of the same farm, or to an adjacent farm which is owned by the sanfie person. Farmers in this category are also exempted from heavy traffic fees and may also obtain refunds of petrol tax. .
