CRICKET VICTORY

EL. TE AWAMUTU BEATS WAIKERIA (Special to Times) TE AWAMUTU, Monday The Te Awamutu cricket eleven turned the tables on Waikeria on Saturday when they visited Waikeria to win by 112 runs to 51 runs. Taylor secured Westbrook’s wicket when the batsman was going well for 55 runs. Picot, a new arrival from Wellington, who opened his season here with 113 not out, fell to Fitzjohn at 24 runs. Gilberd was the only other batsman to secure double figures, the rest failing badly. Fitzjohn took four for 50, Hercoek three for 8 and Taylor two for 20. Coombes, who has had a great deal of success with the ball this season, proved Waikeria's stumbling block, and his tally was eight for 25. The only batsmen to make runs were Fitzjohn 10, Taylor and McGrath 9 each, Crystal 7 and Trubshoe and Price 5 each. Gilberd was the other successful bowler with two for 20*
