SWAN BY-ELECTION COUNTRY PARTY LEADING (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) PERTH, Dec. 22 The latest figures in the Swan byelection indicate that the seat will be held by the Country Party. The votes secured by the two Country Party candidates were:—T. W. Marwick, 5876; P. D. Ferguson, 5497. The official Labour Party candidate, T. Dinan, secured 9174 votes, and C. O. Barker (Independent) 1818. Later returns are likely to favour the Country Party candidates, who are also expected to gain the preferences of the Independent candidate. Ihe by-election was caused by the death of Mr H. Gregory since the Federal general election.
