Nine people were kill and two buildings destroyed. Fifty Italian war prisoners have arrived at Salonika. The Greek High Command has ordered the front-line positions to be held at all costs,v. not to attempt to follow up local successes. The Italians in one sector were caught in a trap. Machine-gun nests mowed them down, upon which the local commander, taking advantage of the rout, pursued the enemy into : Albania. There have been no air raids on ! Salonika. Fifty coasters lie immo- i bilised in the harbour. Italian residents and 500 round-up Germans are still free.

GREEK COUNTER ATTACK-HILL RETAKEN

It is authoritatively slated in London that the Italian advance from Hobispol is the strongest point of their attack. The fighting in that area seems to he an affair of outposts. The Greek defensive line has not vet lieeii reached. 1 here is no information of landings bv British troops.

The Rome correspondent of the British United Press states that a despatch from Agyrokastron says the bad weather has broken, and light Italian units, advancing under a violent artillery barrage, opened up a big attack.

A message from Athens says that the Greeks are counterattacking north of Janina and are reported to have retaken a hill from the Italians, also considerable equipment.
