MORRINSVILLE NOTES
FAREWELL SOCIAL Members of Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, held a social on Wednesday evening to farewell the Rev. J. Pattison, who had supplied in the Morrinsville Church for the last four months. During the evening the Rev. Pattison addressed a gathering of Bible Class members. Mr G. Porter presented Mr Pattison with a book of Palestine views, and thanked him for his help and interest in the Bible Class. A happy evening was spent in competitions and items, those contributing being Miss B. Holland. Mr J. Wylie, Miss B. Holland, Miss G. Kruse and Miss D. Brown. Mr H. J. Barford, for church members and friends, and Mr R. H. Semple, for the board of managers, spoke of Mr Pattison’s ministry and expressed gratitude for his service, and interest. Mr D. R. F. Campbell presented Mr Pattison with an envelope containing a surm of money. Mr Pattison suitably responded. Those present included: Mesdames H. J. Barford, W. Morrice, S. Porter - , R. H. Semple, B. PRESENTATION TO AIRMAN At a dance held in the Parish Hall on Friday evening by the Young Anglicans’ Club, a presentation was) made to Mr Steven Watts, who was a member of the orchestra and who has joined the Air Force. On behalf of the Anglican Vestry, Mr I. Crickett conveyed their good vVishes and asked him to accept a leather outfit. Mrs C. B. Davis spoke for the Guild members, and Mr O. Vowles spoke for the club members. Mr Watts suitably responded. CENTRAL QUEEN FUNDS The committee of the Morrinsville Central Queen, Mrs J. M. Allen, held a bridge party in the Parish Hall on Tuesday, when Mrs E. C. Hart won the first prize and Mrs V. J. Innes won the hidden number. Those present included: Mesdames W. Hetherington, S.
