RECALL TO JAPAN
DELEGATE TO EAST INDIES TALKS ON OIL SUPPLIES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Oct. 21 The leader of the Japanese delegation which is visiting the Netherlands East Indies, Mr Kobayashi, has been recalled to Japan immediately, states a message from Batavia. The Japanese delegation denies that its talks with the Netherlands authorities have been broken off. One of the subjects of the talks is oil supplies. BATAVIA, Oct. 21 The leader of the Japanese delegation, Mr Kobayashi, is en route to Japan, apparently as a result of urgent orders. However, it is announced that the economic negotiations are continuing. As a result of the NetherlandsGerman diplomatic agreement the German Consul, Dr. Wilhelm Timann, has been permitted to embark for Japan. Mr Kobayashi, who is going to Tokio tomorrow, announced that his presence in Japan is most urgent. Officials denied that the talks with the Dutch have broken down, though they admitted that the negotiations have not been brought to a conclusion as reported.
