800 GUINEAS FOR BULL MONEY TO LONDON FUND (By Telegrarfi.—-Press Association) DANNEVIRKE, Wednesday At the annual breeders sale of Polled Angus bulls today a champion bull offered on behalf of Mr D. G. Grant, Mangatoro, Dannevirke, sold for 800 guineas. The purchaser was Mrs J. May, Matapihi, Waipawa. The proceeds were donated by Mr Grant to the London Distress Fund. A yearling sold by Mr Grant realised 275gns. and a yearling bull sold by Mr J. E. Hewitt made 240gns. £IOO.OOO EXCEEDED FIGHTER PLANE FUND NAMING OF MACHINES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, announced today that £lOl,729 has been received in the public account on behalf of the Aeroplanes Fund. Arrangements are being made to remit to the United Kingdom Government the balance of the £IOO,OOO, New Zealand currency, which was promised. The allocation of aeroplanes to provincial patriotic districts for the purpose of naming the machines will be undertaken as soon as money from outstanding lists is received in the public acount. The surplus over £IOO,OOO will be paid to the United Kingdom Government on account of the Dominion’s share of the cost of the Empire air training scheme.
