BUNNY-WOOL BOLERO

Hollywood started it—the craze for little fluffy bunny-wool boleros like the one illustrated, and for which we give the directions here. Our model was knitted in geranium-red; it’s a colour for which we’ve a weakness—but there’s a wide range of other lovely up-to-date shades in this bunny wool from which to take your choice. Materials.—lß (|oz) balls of angora wool. A pair of No. 5 bone or wooden knitting needles and a No. 11 crochet hook. Measurements. Length from shoulder to lower edge, 13in. (to fit a 34 to 36in. bust measurement). Sleeve seam, 4in. Tension.—stitches in width and 6 rows in depth to lin. The back.—Begin at the lower edge. To make up.—Join side, shoulder and sleeve seams and insert sleeves, gathering all fullness to 1 the tun Do not press seams with iron, but flatten them with your fingernail. and work 1 d.c. into every st. ah round the bottom of bolero until the comer of front is reached; here work 2 d.c. into each st. at the corner, then work 1 d.c. into every st. up the front, at the corner, then cont. along until the side-seam where you started is reached. Join with a slip-stitch and work 4 more rounds of crochet in the same way and fasten off. Work 2 rows of d.c. round the lower edge of each sleeve. Be very careful not to get the crochet too full in the first row; you can miss a stitch here and there, j if necessary.
