THE COMMON COLD

SHORT-WAVE RADIO CURE DEMONSTRATION IN LONDON (United Press Assn—Fire. Tr! Copyright) LONDON. Oct. 14 A short-wave radio cure for the common cold was demonstrated before the Minister of Labour, Mr Bcvin. yesterday. The apparatus consists of two electrodes suspended like headphones above the forehead and at the back of the head, although not touching it. When the current is switched on shortwaves pass through the patient. Treatment lasts 10 minutes and causes a comfortable feeling of warmth, although the skin does not become hot. The waves cause a local temperature, thus assisting the blood to rid itself of the infection. Out of 1000 people treated at one factory. 800 reported that colds had been checked or the period of recovery reduced.
