EXECUTIVE REPLIES PROTESTS BY UNIONISTS (By Telegraph.—Press Association* WELLINGTON, Monday The Building Trades Federation executive, replying to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser’s criticism of the resolution passed on Sat- . urday, said Mr Fraser’s references to Fascism and Nazism implied that building workers were not wholeheartedly opposed to these forces. This was refuted. Desiring unreservedly the defeat of Fascism, the workers believed that such methods as contemplated by the latest Public Safety Emergency Regulation would not assist in its defeat. The executive contradicted Mr Fraser’s suggestion that the industrial movement fully agrees with the regu- ' lation. “At least 30 organisations j have vigorously protested. No: amount of abuse can hide this fact,” j the executive stated, and added that j Mr Fraser appeared to resent opposi- j lion to the regulation because the ; Federation of Labour had not yet protested.
