LONDON, Oct. 11 A communique issued from the headquarters of free French, des:ribing the official visit paid by General de Larminat, to the GovernorGeneral of Belgian Congo, says that before leaving Leopoldville on October 10 General Larminat was given in enthusiastic farewell by a huge crowd of Europeans and natives. He was seen off by the GovernorGeneral. the platform being decorated with Belgian and French flags. He inspected a guard of honour and the Belgian and French National Anthems were played. In the course uf the demonstration at the residence
pefore General Larminat’s departure, the Governors of the two Allied colonies exchanged speeches in which they re-affirmed their faith in the Allied cause.
General Larminat emphasised the tymbolic significance of the demonstration at Leopoldville, as it meant
;he resumption of relations which >fficial France broke off under the German dictate, despite the secular friendship between the people of two countries.
