PURCHASE BY BRITISH (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Oct. 12. 3.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Oct. 11 The Maritime Commission has accepted a bid of 4.640.000 dollars from four British firms for 19 vessels which were built during the Great War, and which have been laid up for many years.
