OBITUARY

MRS E. McCORMICK The death has occurred at the age of 87 years of Mrs Ellen McCormick, at her son’s residence, 10 Haig Street, Frankton Junction. Mrs McCormick was born in Ireland and came to New Zealand at the age of 15 years in the sailing ship John Bamfield, the voyage taking five months. She landed at Auckland where she remained for many years. In 1876 she married Mr Francis McCormick, who died two years ago. The major part of her lifetime was spent in Waihi, and she came to Hamilton about 12 months ago. Mrs McCormick is survived by seven children, Messrs F. McCormick (Wellington), H. McCormick, J. McCormick (Auckland), A. McCormick (Frankton); Mesdames W. Tucker, J. Ganley (Cambridge) and J. L. McDermott (Waihi). There are 18 grandchildren and the same number of great-grandchildren.
