S.P.C.A. ACTIVITY
JUNIOR LEAGUE REVIVED A meeting of boys and girls interested in the welfare of animals was held in Hamilton recently, and it was decided to re-form the S.P.C.A. Junior League. Mrs A. E. Savage, president of the ladies’ committee, presided, and explained the aims and objects of the Junior League. Mr E. V. Oldham, honorary secretary of the society, was also i present. There was a good attencl- ! ance. The meeting elected its own office-bearers and committee, and decided to hold its first meeting on Wednesday, September 18, and thereafter on the first Wednesday in each month. The officers elected were:— President, Harvey Starkie; vicepresident, Noel Brown; secretary, ; John Gate; treasurer, Kenneth Gayi lard; committee, June Blythe, Jean j Thompson, Shirley Graham, Irene j Broggins, Trevor Hunt, Colin Crowhurst, Kevin Lawrence.
