AUCTION OF BULLS
FIXTURE NEXT WEEK COMBINED BREEDERS’ SALE No fewer than 529 quality pedigree sires will be offered at the annual bull sale of the Waikato Combined Breeders’ Association, at Claudelands next week. The big catalogue is made up of 362 Jerseys, 109 Ayrshires, 37 toilking Shorthorns and 21 Friesians. Breeders and dairy farmers will be given a unique opportunity to purchase sires of high butter-fat backing and supported by some of the Dominion’s best known blood lines. This year’s offering at the combined sale will be one of the best submitted at this important fixture. Prior to the sale an inspection committee will examine all entries and any that do not come up to the exacting stand- | ard of requirements will be rejected. Thus buyers will be well protected. Seldom have so many well-backed bulls been offered in the Waikato at one auction, and producers should avail themselves of the opportunity to acquire a sire that will advance ] the production of their herds. Jerseys will be offered on the first two days of the sale, Wednesday and Thursday, and Ayrshires, Shorthorns and Friesians will be auctioned on Friday. The auctioneers will be the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Messrs Dalgety and Company, and Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Company. Limited.
