GRADING COMPETITION ANNUAL CONFERENCE (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND. Thursday Dairy factory managers of the Auckland district held their annual spring conference at the King’s Wharf grading stores today, Mr A. H. Meharry presiding over an attendance of about 50. An address was given by Mr E. C. Wood, chief dairy produce grader, of Auckland. An inspection was later made by the managers of samples representative of current consignments of butter and cheese.

A grading competition was held, the results being:—Butter: P. S. Halligan (Rodney Dairy Company), 99 points, 1: R. A. Porter (Katikati), A. Wright (Franklin Dairy Company), A. C. Hamblin (New Zealand Dairy Company, Ngongotaha), H. Cubis (Cambridge Dairy Company). C. Burrows (New Zealand Dairy Company, Ngatea), equal with 984 points, 2. Cheese: E. Brazendale (New Zealand Dairy Comnany, Pukekura). and W. J. Lowe (New Zealand L\iry Company, Orini), equal, 99 \ points, 1; L. J. Kearnley (New Zealand Dairy Company, Te Puninga), and K. McKenzie (Hauraki Plains Dairy Company), equal, 98£ points, 2. At the business meeting of the Auckland district of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association, Mr Meharry was re-elected president.
