DEATH OF FARMER
COLLAPSE AFTER QUARREL INCIDENT AT KAIPAKI DISPUTE WITH SHAREMILKER Following an altercation with hii sharemilker on his farm this morning, a well-known Kaipaki farmer, Mr Joseph Alfred Wright, aged 57, collapsed and died. Mr Wright had lived in Kaipaki for nearly 20 years. It is understood that Mr Wright and the sharemilker, Mr Lawrence B. Owen, aged 41, had an altercation concerning conditions on the farm. The dispute took place some 200 yards away from Mr Wright's ! home and the pair came to blows, i Mr Wright afterward walked to [ his home and entered the washhouse to have a shave. Shortly after | entering the building he collapsed. Dr. E. N. D’Arcy was summoned but found Mr Wright dead. An inquest was opened before the district coroner, Mr F. W. Platts, and evidence of identification given by a son, James Wright. The inquest was adjourned, the coroner ordering a post-mortem examination. The matter is being investigated by the police. _________
