DEPARTURE FROM AUSTRALIA VISIT BEEN REVELATION INTEREST IN NEW ZEALAND (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) CANBERRA, August 24 The Prime Minister of Australia, Mr R. G. Menzies, received a farewell message from the visiting American journalists, who are now en route by air to the Dutch East Indies. The message expresses to the Commonwealth Government a deep sense of appreciation and profound gratitude for the generous hospitality and also the friendly interest shown in their visit.
The chairman of the party, Mr Roy Howard, said: “Our visit here and to New Zealand has been a revelation. Australia has got all we have got and more. This country lends itself to a news coverage that would intrigue American fancy and open Australia to a line of American travel such as you have never had before.”
