August 23 The substantial reduction being made in the rates quoted by the War Risks Insurance Office for the Mediterranean trades reflect a more favourable experience than has been provided for in previous quotations. Where until recently voyages to the Eastern Mediterranean were being quoted at £ls per cent, the rate is now quoted at £lO per cent. For voyages to and from Suez, Port Said and Alexandria the rate is now £7 10s per cent via the Cape or the Mediterranean. Formerly the rate was £l2 10s per cent via the Mediterranean and £7 10s per cent via the Cape.
