PRE-WEDDING PARTIES
KITCHEN EVENING Miss Rae Pomeroy was hostess at her home, recently, at a kitchen evening in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Cecil Gaze. Bowls of spring flowers were arranged charmingly in the rooms, and a happy time was spent by the guests, who had brought gifts for the kitchen for the guest-of-honour. Miss Pomeroy was wearing a white embroidered teal crepe frock, and Miss Gaze was in blue and white sheer. Those present were:—Misses Athalie Gaze, Patty Blake, Bubbles Robinson, Morva Sandham, Pat Sandham, Joan Lock and Alison Gower.
GIFTS OF LINEN Miss Cecil Gaze was the recipient of many gifts of linen at an afternoon given for her by Mrs H. Holloway at the Centreway Rooms recently, when a pleasant hour was spent over the tea cups. The tables were bright with Iceland poppies. Mrs Holloway received her guests in a black and white striped suit, and Miss Gaze was wearing a navy woven frock, a checked coat and a navy hat. Those present were:—Mesdames J. Wynne Jones (Hastings), D. H. Gillies, R. Thompson, H. McFarlane, J. Johnston, Ewan. Misses Patty Blake and Margaret Johnston.
